The Belgian Shepherd is a breed of medium-sized herding dog from Belgium. The Belgian Shepherds have been used as assistance dogs, companion dogs, detection dogs, guard dogs, police dogs, guide dogs, and search and rescue dogs. To this day they continue to be used by a number of militaries in a variety of roles.
