The bobcat is a medium-sized feline species found throughout North America. They are named for their short, "bobbed" tails. Bobcats are strict carnivores that feed on a wide variety of prey, but primarily rabbits and hares. Bobcats are stealthy hunters and are capable of taking down large prey such as young ungulate species.
