The Morpho Marcus (or Morpho Adonis) is a neotropical butterfly. These butterflies are found in mid-elevation rainforest at altitudes between about 300-1000 meters above sea level. Their wingspan ranges from 70 to 90 millimeters (2.3 to 3.5 in). This butterfly is named for the mythological adonis, the Greek god of beauty and desire.
